How it works

The concept of the cluster and the alternate

The cluster groups potential users around the same transport axis traveling towards a common destination.

This cluster is the real transport network and integrates all users, their real routes, meeting points, schedules and preferences. The database that calculates each cluster is the basis for organizing rideshares.

With their detailed knowledge of the network, Géocar’s algorithms are able to take into account the priorities of users in relation to each other, and thus calculate pairings or determine the best management of an unexpected interruption in a manner that benefits not only each user but also the group.

With Géocar, pairings are optimized by the supervisory control rather than grouped randomly by commuters on a classifieds site.  Géocar oversees the network and provides a safe and effective 24-hour ridesharing service.

The alternate is a person who has access to a car and wants to rideshare as frequently as possible, as a passenger or a driver.

For each day where he or she has no constraints, the alternate lets Géocar decide his or her status as a function of the supply identified in real time. A driver on the first day may be a passenger the next. Géocar offers drivers the best solution for themselves and other members of their cluster.

This concept of alternating considerably increases the number of daily matches to the advantage of users and their businesses.
